New Nike SOCCRX Colorways Released – Hands On At Nike HQ

Nike added some fresh looks to the SCCRX range this past week, increasing their stake in the short sided game. Released as part of the new seasonal colorways is the MagistaX, MercurialX and HypervenomX in both indoor court (IC) and turf (TF) versions that anticipate the surfaces and dynamic underfoot-play intrinsic to quick paced soccer. Notably, the boots feature recycled Nike Grind rubber on high-abrasion, drag areas to enhance durability on hard surfaces.

Something else important to note about these releases is the emphasis of SCCRX in the US rather than FootballX Soccer Cleats , which to date had been associated with the range. That aligns with the US strategy to dominate one of the greatest growth areas of the game. When players get off the pitch, what are they wearing? And can Nike produce a line-up that easily transcends between playing some court games and walking home afterwards. Their goal is to create designs for players that want to have a fashionable shoe during the day, and something you can wear when and where you want to play. Basically, can they double as a lifestyle shoe.

In particular, the MagistaX stands out as an option that does just that. The comfort level and simplicity of the designs serves multi-functions and I could definitely see players wearing them to school, only to jump in a quick pick-up game on their way home. Last week, we had the opportunity to test this specific Risk Red colorway out while playing at “The Coop”.

From a performance perspective, you get everything you’d expect from the 2015-2016 New Nike MagistaX right through the upper of the boot. Once you slip your feet into them, comfort becomes the norm. The entire upper of the Obra envelopes around your foot like no other boot does, and the collar completes a very dynamic fit and feel. Even across the area where a tongue normally exists, the soft knit upper sits flush and provides a snug fit in the right areas. This is the type of shoe I would have loved to have had growing up.Get more at footballboots2016.com .
